International 6th Scientific PAIP Conference
With great pleasure we announce
International 6th Scientific PAIP Conference
Psychotherapy - practice, science and passion
to be held on January 13-15, 2012 in Cracow,
Poland.
Psychotherapy - practice, science and passion
Research and clinical practice are two pillars of psychotherapy and two equal but needing each other sources of its progress.
The upcoming Conference is meant to be dedicated to these two: research on psychotherapy and the contribution of the clinicians. It will be dedicated to the scientific dimension of the passion.
Psychotherapy is my passion, may say many of the psychotherapists. Psychotherapy
research is my passion, will the scientists state. Although psychotherapy is a
dynamically developing branch of science, the field of scientific research remains
unfamiliar to the clinicians, while the researchers keep some distance from the
clinical practice. The things do not have to be that way. Meeting and exchange
between these two groups shall create a new quality, beneficials for psychotherapists,
researchers and in result for the patients. Fascinating research on the
psychotherapists' actual work is the field, where these worlds can meet.
Let us meet.
Our guest of honour will be professor Alfred Pritz from Vienna, the visionary pointing the new ways of psychotherapy development, co – author of the psychotherapist profession as we know it, the founder of the first Psychotherapy University in Europe. Other foreign guests developing our research discipline are also expected.
Presentation of psychotherapy research and psychotherapeutic skills workshops will be the core of our meeting. Scientific curiosity, joint search for the truth, community of those who teach and those who learn, experiencing the unknown, sharing fascinations, professional exchange and the atmosphere of openness are the values that used to connect the previous conferences of our Association.
Psychotherapists, people training in psychotherapy, researchers, future scientists, future psychotherapists and everyone who is interested in psychotherapy as a science, practice or a form of help, are warmly welcome.

Cracow is one of the largest and oldest cities in Poland, with a population over 700,000. The historic centre of Cracow, the former capital of Poland, is situated at the foot of the Royal Wawel Castle. The 13th-century merchants' town has Europe's largest market square and numerous historical houses, palaces and churches with their magnificent interiors. Further evidence of the town's fascinating history is provided by the remnants of the 14th-century fortifications and the medieval site of Kazimierz with its ancient synagogues in the southern part of town, Jagiellonian University and the Gothic Cathedral where the kings of Poland were buried.
Cracow has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Polish scientific, cultural and artistic life. As the former national capital with a history encompassing more than a thousand years, the city remains the spiritual heart of Poland. It is a major attraction for local and international tourists, attracting seven million visitors annually. Famous landmarks include the Main Market Square with St. Mary's Basilica and the Sukiennice Cloth Hall, the Wawel Castle, the National Art Museum, the Zygmunt Bell at the Wawel Cathedral, and the medieval St Florian's Gate with the Barbican along the Royal Coronation Route. In 1978, UNESCO added the historic centre of Cracow, which includes the Old Town, Kazimierz and the Wawel Castle to the list of World Heritage Sites.
